HUH?: A taste of New Orleans style event with food, entertainment, music and beverages.
Admission is $10 at the gate-including 10 complimentary "taste" tickets. You decide
which foods you want more of.
THE GRUB: Area merchants include Kelleher's, The Big Easy, Rizzi's on State, One World Eats & Drinks, Hick'ry Stick, JJ Ryans, Creative Cooking and Rhodell.
BEVERAGES: Look forward to plenty of non-alcoholic concoctions, along with your favorites from Brewer's Distributing. FEATURED DRINK: "The Un-Hurricane"
WHEN: Thursday, September 29th 3:00pm-10:00pm
WHERE: Water Street (okay, Bourbon Street for the night) between State and Walnut. A.K.A.-the road in front of Kelleher's and Rhodell Brewery.
WHY: To benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Peoria, The Red Cross and The Salvation Army.
Seventeen Boys & Girls Club facilties along the Gulf Coast were destroyed or severly damaged by Hurrican Katrina. Biloxi, Miss. (Peoria's adopted city) lost six of their seven units.

Have you noticed that on North Street, past Nebraska, the road is closed? It's been like this for about a month. You can stay on North until it reaches Arcadia and then you have to turn onto Arcadia and turn left on Bigelow to reach McClure. I'VE NEVER SEEN A CONSTRUCTION WORKER-EVER. So, why is the road closed?
When my gas tank is empty, gas prices seem to jump $0.20 a gallon. The second I fill-up, the gas price decreases by $0.20-every time.
If everyone that has been pulling out in front of me, causing me to slam on my breaks would have waited for my vehicle to pass, they would have an empty lane all to themselves. What is wrong with waiting 2.5 seconds (for a car to pass) and then pulling out? I think that sentence might be misinterpreted.
Sophie and Vito have been petrified by the recent storms. It's only been in the past year that either of them have ever had a problem. Sophie starts shaking and Vito steps up his panting. Saturday: Funky bathroom off I-55, 45 minutes on Milwaukee Avenue, drag queens and more drag queens at the Baton Lounge, Howl at the Moon has some expensive drinks, we rode in a limo and Diane was egged at the 24 hour burrito place by a carload of girls. Dirty, Dirty Sanchez (the blow up doll I bought is a cross between Burt Reynolds in Gator and Pedro from Napolean Dynamite)
Sunday: Highways are dead on the Sunday before Labor Day. Rob made awesome appetizers for Kevin and Melissa's party. Note: I am a good cook. Rob usually cooks because I'm busy on the weekends, but I can cook. Just so everyone knows.
Monday: Spent most of the wee morning at the hospital with Dad. Went home to nap and Rob cleaned the entire house. What a good man!
Tuesday: Most of the afternoon at the hospital. Seriously dislike the cafeteria hours.
Wednesday: Talked to the doctor about Dad. Looks like he's going to be fine. Saw a bicyclist on the ground at the intersection of Jefferson and Kumpf Blvd. Very creepy.|W|P|112613522318891843|W|P|What Have I Been Doing Besides Not Blogging?|W|P|

The Moon makes for a nice, different-kinda night out.
Angie|W|P|I have heard about Howlin' on Water. It's every Friday night and it sounds like an absolute blast!We're going to Chicago Saturday and then to a friend's Labor Day party on Sunday. Since we have no plans for Monday, I'm hoping Rob will want to help me clean around the house. I'm guessing his huntings plans will extend into the weekend.
